A don't know what's going on...

I'm definitely connected to the internet, but I can't run any of my applications on the side. Any ideas why? This happened the minute I restarted my computer since it crashed because of alien swarm. Java for minecraft also doesn't work. Out of the browser, I can't seem to have it registered to connect the internet.

I think my applications are all somehow blocked from the internet, but I'm not sure how that works. :/

I've tried restarting my wireless modem, I've restarted my computer, restarted everything I can think of and still no go. :/

java broke, try reinstalling it ?

do a restore to factory settings. That way gives you hours of fun reinstalling everything

So your internet SAYS connected, and you are connected to the internet (Which is probably why you can post in this thread, unless your doing it from another computer, but your applications, i.e. Team Fortress 2 wont respond, or are in offline mode? (In Steam) So your games run fine, aside from the fact you cant play online, correct?

I fixed it with a system restore.

Basically, my comp crashed, Firefox ad skype worked after it, nothing else did.
That includes steam, mumble, etc

I blame Windows.  It seems some other people have had somewhat of the same problem.  There is also some kind of a fix here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/24163-42-some-programs-connect-internet.
